About Us

South Texas Overdose Prevention (STOP) is a federal grant, funded by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.

Based in San Antonio, Texas, STOP is a public health program that will expand and enhance overdose prevention and other harm reduction services for minority individuals living with, or at risk of developing a substance use disorder.

STOP will serve all of Texas Public Health Region 8, which includes the following 28 counties: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Calhoun, Comal, DeWitt, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Goliad, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Jackson, Karnes, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, LA Salle, Lavaca, Maverick, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde, Victoria, Wilson and Zavala.

All services provided are FREE of charge.

Meet the Team

Program Manager – Adrienne

Adrienne has been in Health and Human Services work for over 10 years. She brings a natural, confident tenacity and passion to the work. While working in the CIPH Department for the last 6 years, she has been able to incorporate her living experience when applying for groundbreaking grants that positively impact the most underserved in our community; most recently the STOP grant. Adrienne has a devotion to the work that helps people living with substance use and mental health disorders, and a passion for helping individuals who have been historically underrepresented and underserved.

 

Patient Navigator – Magdalena

Maggie brings over ten years of experience and service to the San Antonio community. She users her life experience to connect with patients and offer  individualized, customized services and resources. Maggie is fluent in Spanish and is no stranger to connecting with people. Utilizing trauma-informed care approaches, she goes above and beyond for her client and ensures they are equipped with the tools to meet their needs.
